Serving the port itself was the church of the Holy Trinity and this church had also seen some hard times, but was mostly in very good condition. It was large, clearly expecting a lot of people for its offices. While the interior painting and accessories were greater in quantity than the humble St. Sophia, and needed little restoration, the quality of the work in St. Sophia was about the same.

It's tempting to think that western churches were this colorful before the puritans painted everything white.
